Current extreme weather conditions, paired with unexpectedly low water levels, are forcing BiH’s leading electricity producer to cut its exports in order to guarantee domestic supply. Although BiH generally gets much of its power from hydroelectricity, conditions have left EPBiH dependent on dwindling coal reserves, while heavy snows have made it difficult to transport coal to power plants.
