BiH Council of Ministers Chairman Zoran Tegeltija said he believes that BiH can acquire candidate status for EU membership by the summer.
Tegeltija states the Council of Ministers, despite coronavirus-caused crisis, is actively working on fulfilling the 14 priorities from the European Commission’s Opinion, which have to be fulfilled in order to obtain a recommendation for opening EU accession negotiations.
“Certain progress has been made on some issues that are the Council of Ministers’ domain, but have been stalled for a long time. Currently, the biggest issue is the challenges and numerous uncertainties provoked by the global crisis caused by the pandemic, which we in BiH, the EU and the world-wide, have been facing” Tegeltija told Sarajevo’s Oslobođenje.
