Republika Srpska (RS) President Željka Cvijanović told SRNA that with the Central Election Commission (CEC), with Thursday’s decision to annul the elections at most polling stations in Srebrenica and Doboj, challenged the electoral will of these communities‘ voters in the rudest way and put itself in the service of political interests in Sarajevo and the RS opposition parties.
“Republika Srpska condemns such decision finding it unjustified, politically motivated and aimed at challenging the electoral will of the citizens of Srpska, as well as undermining its democratic capacity. We also condemn the political motivation of the CEC, the fact that it deliberately delayed the decision and violated the law, that they are working according to the directive issued by various centres of power, which believe that the mayoral seat in Srebrenica should be reserved for Bosniaks, regardless of voters’ will,” the president of the Republic said.
