As BiH authorities started work Monday on upgrading the burned Lipa migrant camp, some migrants have protested, saying they want not new tents and better food in Lipa, but the freedom to go to Western Europe.
After locals in the town of Bihac in northwest Bosnia protested against plans to relocate migrants and refugees from the torched Lipa camp to the Bira centre, inside the town, Bosnia ordered its armed forces to set up new tents in the Lipa camp where the migrants can stay until the winter adaptation of the camp is completed.
On Sunday, BiH Security Minister Selmo Cikotic, said, “The issue of accommodation for these people who are in very poorly conditioned accommodation, with hygiene, health and other circumstances, must be urgently addressed.”
