The EU Delegation in BiH on Wednesday welcomed the BiH Parliamentary Assembly’s adoption of amendments to the election law enabling the city of Mostar to hold its first local election in 12 years, and also urged authorities to immediately secure the funds for holding the 2020 local election.
The EU statement said, “We warmly welcome today’s adoption of the amendments to the BiH Election Law, finally enabling the holding of Mostar municipal elections. Holding these elections is included among the 14 key priorities of the Commission’s Opinion on the EU membership application of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
