The BiH Fiscal Council on Wednesday adopted a Letter of Intent with the International Monetary Fund asking for financial support under a rapid financing instrument as part of efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus.
It was concluded at the second session of the Fiscal Council, held via video link by Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija, that BiH’s fiscal position was significantly improved during the previous arrangement with the IMF, which allowed some fiscal space to cover the current economic price of coronavirus pandemic, and that the surplus in the last two years has averaged close to two percent of GDP.
