The Office of the RS President issued the following press release:

Republic of Srpska President Holds Meeting with Representatives of Republic of Srpska Institutions, Republic of Srpska Representatives in Institutions of BiH and Leaders of Parliamentary Political Parties in Republic of Srpska

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović held a meeting today in Banja Luka with representatives of the Republic of Srpska institutions, the Republic of Srpska representatives in BiH institutions, and leaders of parliamentary political parties in the Republic of Srpska to discuss the political situation in Srpska and BiH.

The President of the Republic stated that the highest officials of Srpska unanimously concluded that Republic of Srpska representatives in the institutions of BiH should suspend their activities on deciding on any matters within the jurisdiction of the BiH authorities until the law on the Constitutional Court of BiH is adopted, in which there would be no foreign judges.

President Cvijanovic said that it was also unanimously concluded that a session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska should be urgently convened to discuss matters related to decisions of the Constitutional Court that deeply infringe the identity of Srpska, and now even encroach upon territorial or property matters.

“We are constantly receiving decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH that are detrimental to the interests of the Republic of Srpska and fall outside the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court, and serve to redress what the Constitution of BiH has given us,” said President Cvijanovic.

The meeting was attended by the Serb member of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik, the Speaker of the National Assembly Nedeljko Cubrilović, the Prime Minister of Srpska Radovan Višković, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Zoran Tegeltija, the President of the Constitutional Court of Srpska Džerard Selman, as well as by representatives of the Republic of Srpska in common institutions and of political parties.
