In the first four months of 2019, the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) detected and registered in the RS 2,160 migrants who crossed the BiH border illegally. The number is approximately four times as many as during the same period of last year.
Head of the MIA Press office Mirna Miljanović has told Srna the majority of the detected and controlled migrants came from Pakistan 33.5%, Iraq 13.9% and Syria 10.8%.
“By the place, that is, the area covered by the police administrations they were found in, the majority were detected in the area of the Bijeljina Police Administration 29%, Banjaluka 19.7%, Prijedor 15.1%, Gradiška 13.1%, and 8% in the area covered by the Doboj Police Administration,” stated Miljanović.
Of the total number of migrants, she said, around 53% did not have any IDs, while 66% did not have the necessary documentation.
