The Vice President of the BiH High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (HJPC), the body that appoints and disciplines judges and prosecutors in BiH, on Wednesday condemned a meeting of some representatives of the BiH judiciary with the US Ambassador and the USAID representative in the BiH, charging that their discussion of potential changes regarding the HJPC is interference in the BiH judiciary.” HJPC Vice President Ruzica Jukic called it “baffling” that the embassy would discuss the law without any member of the HJPC. Juzic said, “No embassy has the right to interfere in the election process of the chief prosecutor or any other judicial position, nor to impose its solutions.”
