EU High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini and Commissioner Johannes Hahn issued a statement on the BiH Elections saying that BiH citizens “exercised their democratic right in a calm and orderly manner” and that elections “were genuinely competitive but characterized by continuing segmentation along ethnic lines.” According to the statement, “This new mandate can be an opportunity for political leaders to demonstrate, both to their citizens and to the EU, a renewed commitment and determination to take forward all the reforms needed to advance on the EU path.”
