Reporting on a number of documents produced by the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, SRNA says that a number of high-ranking Bosniak political and military figures are suspected of war crimes, but have never been charged. The list of suspects includes the late Alija Izetbegovic. The documents also implicate highly-positioned Croatian officials.
The document of the Prosecutor’s Office under the name of “Categorization of war Crime Cases in the Prosecutor’s Office with a Maturity of Seven Years,” adopted by the Council of Ministers of BiH in December 2008 as part of the War Crimes Processing Strategy, reads a list of suspects such as: Alija Izetbegovic /although he died in 2003/, Ejup Ganic, Haris Silajdzic, Edhem Bicakcic, Rusmir Mahmutcehajic, Fikret Muslimovic, Arif Pasalic, Sefer Halilovic Ramiz and Drekovic….
Under the case number 159/06, the above mentioned are suspected of crimes against civilians under Article 173 and the criminal offense of crimes against prisoners of war under Article 175 of the BiH Criminal Code, for the murder of number of persons, abuse and torture, in the entire territory of BiH.
“The senior political and military officials, despite the justified suspicions, have never been indicted for war crimes,” reports Dnevni List.
