EU Special Representative Lars-Gunnar Wigemark spoke yesterday in support of the newly-elected mayor of Srebrenica, Mladen Grujicic. In comments to the press, Mr. Wigemark said that Grujicic, who is a Serb, “understands his role as representative of all residents.” Some local Bosniak activists, as well as representatives of the SDA, have challenged Grujicic’s right to govern, despite his confirmed victory in the municipal election, because of his ethnicity.
