Republika Srpska’s president Milorad Dodik said today at a joint press conference with EU Foreign Affairs chief Catherine Ashton that the RS had been given assurances that its concerns about the state judiciary would be addressed in a new “structured dialogue” initiative.
With the EU firmly supporting judicial reform, Dodik said that the planned RS referendum on the State Court was not necessary, and that the conclusions of the RS National Assembly adopted on April 13 would be reconsidered. “On the basis of this offer by the European Union,” Dodik said, “I will request from the RSNA to propose a decision that will adequately reflect the newly created situation. I believe I could get a support from our Assembly.”
