The Republika Srpska Minister of Labor and Veterans’ Affairs, Milenko Savanovic, called on BiH agencies to accelerate the search for missing Serb victims of war. Minister Savanovic also said if those agencies cannot make progress, then the responsibility for the search should be transferred back to the RS government.
Savanovic says that Srpska is still searching for 1,665 missing soldiers and civilians from the patriotic defence war, stressing that there are still 650 unidentified mortal remains in memorial ossuaries in Republika Srpska – in Banjaluka, Nevesinje and Istocno Sarajevo.
He says that only 33 Serbian victims have been identified since 2008, which speaks of the irresponsibility and attitude of the BiH Court and Prosecutor’s Office and the BiH Missing Persons Institute towards Serbian victims.
