Arsonists started a fire yesterday in an Orthodox church in Sarajevo. Church leaders say that police are not paying adequate attention to the crime, and have ignored or downplayed previous attacks on this and other churches.
[Rector Cedomir] Djelmo explained that the church had often been targeted by vandals, that more than 40 attacks had been registered and very few resolved, that they now received police reports on the attacks that had happened 10 years ago or earlier, that the statute of limitations was applied and that investigations were suspended.
