Republika Srpska Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic and her Federation counterpart Fadil Novalic held a lengthy meeting on Wednesday with Council of Ministers Chair Denis Zvizdic. The leaders discussed a number of issues requiring cooperation between the entities and BiH, including the harmonization of laws related to EU membership. They also discussed the finalization of a coordination mechanism to oversee the EU accession process.
“The coordination mechanism is complex material. I think that it should be given a chance for its bodies to start working and we will see whether there are problems in functioning and what is essential to change in the future to be as efficient as possible,” specified Zvizdic, stressing that RS representatives, nor at any other level of government, were not excluded from the process.
He added that today’s meeting discussed the issue of clearing debt and he expects that soon the Council of Ministers will consider that issue as well.
The prime ministers also said that they expect to meet with an IMF mission soon to discuss a new loan arrangement.
