A former soldier in the Bosnian Serb armed forces who confessed to participating in the killing of Bosniaks in Srebrenica has been sentenced to ten years in prison by a court in Serbia.
[Brano] Gojkovic, a former member of the Bosnian Serb Army’s 10th Detachment, is one of seven members of his unit who have so far been convicted of shooting around 800 civilians at a military farm in Branjevo on July 16, 1995.
The BiH Prosecutor’s Office has said that Gojkovic should have faced trial in Bosnia, and should have received a longer sentence. The Court of BiH has previously convicted four other members of the same military unit.
