Authorities in Switzerland arrested Naser Oric, wartime commander of Bosniak forces in the area of Srebrenica, on Wednesday, Oric’s attorneys confirmed. Oric was taken into custody on an outstanding Serbian arrest warrant, issued in connections with alleged war crimes against Serb civilians in the village of Zalazje.
Oric was acquitted by the ICTY in 2008. Serbian authorities did not address plans for extradition or prosecution on Wednesday.
