Federation Prime Minister Fadil Novalic told press that his government is considering selling off the government’s interests in BH Telecom and Eronet in order to raise funds for a highway construction project that is not funded by the current entity Budget.
He added that his government has invited a foreign company to analyze the work of the two companies and suggest a course of action – whether to keep the companies in government ownership, sell only a portion of their shares, or sell them completely.
Federation officials have been contemplating sales of the two telecom firms – the two most lucrative public companies – and some other remaining public firms for the past few years.
Two parties in the entity’s ruling coalition, the HDZ and DF, are still embroiled in a dispute about the appointment of managers for other state-owned companies, however, and it is unclear whether Novalic has the support required to make such a decision.
