Republika Srpska officials, veterans, survivors, and others gathered in Sarajevo last weekend to commemorate the 1992 Dobrovoljacka Street attack on a JNA convoy.
The commemoration was attended by Srpska minister of labour and veterans affairs, Milenko Savanovic, Serbian Ambassador to BiH Stanimir Vukicevic, head of the Srpska Veterans Association, Milomir Savcic, and head of the Srpska Centre for Research of War, War Crimes and Missing Persons, Milorad Kojic.
Minister Savanovic has said that today marks 23 years since the killing of innocent young men, who lost their lives just because they were members of a legal and legitimate army of the former Yugoslavia.
“We mustn’t forget the past, but we must neither trap our future by our fast. We no longer live in the world of our fathers, we live in the world of our children. Where we go is more important than where we come from,” said Savanovic.
