At a meeting in Brussels on Tuesday, BiH Council of Ministers Chair Denis Zvizdic met with the prime ministers of Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia. The representatives of the “Western Balkan 6” issued a joint statement regarding the establishment of a regional “core transport network,” and reaffirming the states’ “commitment to connectivity, good neighbourly relations, regional cooperation and European integration.”
The measures described in the joint statement represent the extension of the EU’s TEN-T (Trans-European Transportation Networks) concept, which was conceived to connect the capitals and major cities of all European states by road, rail, air, and water. The “Western Balkan 6” states have committed to establishing a regional transportation network that will eventually be incorporated into the larger TEN-T system.
