In an interview conducted by Oslobodenje, High Representative Valentin Inzko sharply criticized the coalition parties in BiH for failing to form a Federation government and BiH Council of Ministers, five months after nationwide elections. Mr. Inzko accused the parties of violating the trust of the electorate.
Stagnation must come to an end and that is what they have to have in mind when they negotiate about distribution of work in the new governments. During all these talks, one important fact seems to be absent from discussions: leaders are elected to represent the interests of citizens and to serve them; not to fulfil their own wishes or interests. The interests of citizens must finally take center stage – for this to happen, we must see a fundamental change in the way the politics is conducted in this country.
HR Inzko also praised the EU’s decision to activate the Stabilization and Association Agreement with BiH, and said that OHR would remain in place to ensure the full implementation of the Dayton Agreement.
