Former Federation vice president Mirsad Kebo told press last week that he had hired “top lawyers” to help him continue his campaign for accountability for war crimes, after the BiH Prosecutor’s Office refused to investigate Sefik Dzaferovic and Sakib Mahmuljan based on evidence provided by Mr. Kebo.
“This points to the fact that there is not the desire in this case to conduct an investigation. I was very surprised by this response, even though I subconsciously felt it will be so,” Kebo said.
He said that he tried to get in touch with new FBiH Vice-President Melika Mahmutbegic in order to talk with her about documents he submitted to the BiH Prosecutor’s Office.
“It seems that she got the instructions what to do,” Kebo said, stressing that an effort to marginalise him is visible from a letter from the BiH Chief Prosecutor, having in mind that he does not hold the office of FBiH Vice-President any more.
