Groups representing Serb victims of war crimes spoke out on Thursday against the BiH Prosecutor’s decision not to investigate Sefik Dzaferovic, President of the House of Representatives, for involvement in war crimes. Also condemning the Prosecutor’s move was former Federation vice president Mirsad Kebo, who has reportedly delivered thousands of pages of documents to the Prosecutor’s Office in recent months, including information that, according to Kebo, implicates Dzaferovic in war crimes.
Boris Grubesic, spokesman for the Bosnian state prosecution, said on Thursday that the decision not to investigate Dzaferovic was made after reviewing thousands of army and police documents, sparking anger among Bosnian Serb victims’ groups and politicians who have been boycotting parliamentary sessions over the issue.
The documents about alleged war crimes against Serb civilians in Vozuca, near Zavidovici, were sent to the prosecution as part of a criminal report filed by Mirsad Kebo, a former member of Dzaferovic’s Party of Democratic Action, SDA.
Dzaferovic denies the claims that he did not report war crimes by Bosniak forces against Serbs while he was a police commander in the town of Zenica during the 1992-95 conflict.
