The government of the Federation plans to sell its remaining shares in several large companies in order to raise capital for the entity.
Bosnia’s Federation entity will sell remaining government shares in several major companies in 2015, including the largest domestic pharmaceutical company, Bosnalijek, the petrol company, Energopetrol, and former engineering giant, Energoinvest, the entity government announced on Thursday.
The list of companies to be put up for the privatization numbers 14 in all. Others include the construction company Hidrogradnja, the aluminium producer Aluminij Mostar, the trading and wood company Sipad export-import, the steel company Zeljezara Zenica and the Mostar tobacco company FDM.
The Federation holds minority ownership in these companies. A previous process of privatization in the Federation led to the massive protests that shook BiH last year.
