American ambassador Maureen Cormack spoke today at the opening of a two-day workshop on counterterrorism, sponsored by the US Department of Justice.
The two-day event held at the Hotel Hollywood features American counter-terrorism experts and their counterparts from SIPA and the BiH Prosecutor’s Office providing insight on how to better investigate and prosecute terrorism cases, as well as a scenario designed to challenge the methodology for investigating foreign fighter cases and better identify potential threats. A similar workshop will be held next week in Teslic.
Ambassador Cormack noted that BiH has been a source of some of the foreign fighters who have joined the ranks of the so-called Islamic State, and that BiH is a member of the international coalition combating the terrorist organization.
