The SNSD and its coalition partners have reached an agreement on the allocation of seats within the new government, following a meeting between SNSD head Milorad Dodik and his counterparts within the Socialist Party and DNS.
In the new government formed following October elections, the Socialists obtained four posts: Industry and Energy, Labor and Veterans, Trade and Tourism and Family, Youth and Sport ministries, Dodik said.
The Democratic People’s Alliance, DNS, has obtained Education and Culture, Transport and Communications, and Administration and Local Government, he added.
President Dodik has asked the current RS prime minister, Zeljka Cvijanovic, to head up the new government as well. PM Cvijanovic will now begin working with the party leaderships to nominate ministers for each post.
Once the names of ministers are agreed, “a special session of the People’s Assembly of Republika Srpska can be called when the new government will be installed”, Dodik said.
The entity government comprises 16 ministries. While the Socialists will take four and the DNS three, the SNSD will have eight ministries. The last will go to the Croatian Democratic Union, HDZ, which represents the entity’s small Croatian community.
