US Deputy Chief of Mission Nicholas Hill spoke to press in Banja Luka this week after holding meetings with party leaders and government officials. In his remarks, he blamed RS president Milorad Dodik for ongoing protests in which farmers from BiH are trying to block agricultural imports. According to Mr. Hill, President Dodik is capable of “blocking reform processes” whether or not the SNSD party is part of the BiH-level government.
“He (Dodik) is capable of doing it. Even today we see the situation in agriculture, which is the result of one of his blockades, because of which it is impossible to form institutions and agencies that would enable export of agricultural products,” Hill said at a press conference in Banja Luka. He added that the U.S Embassy is very carefully monitoring the situation at the state and Federation level.
The US embassy has routinely accused Mr. Dodik and the SNSD for problems in BiH, while ignoring disruptive behavior from Bosniak parties.
