Serbia’s new prime minister, Aleksandar Vucic, visited BiH this week in an effort to solidify and improve the relationship between the two countries.
He stressed that he came on the visit to resolve the minor problems between the two countries and work on economic cooperation. He informed citizens of both countries that they are among one another’s most important partners, perhaps the most important.
“In the first quarter of 2014, we have growth of trade exchange compared to the first quarter of 2013 by 20.9 percent. Export from BiH to Serbia grew 28 percent, and export from Serbia to BiH grew by 18.1 percent. In the first quarter, Serbia imported to BiH goods valued at €203 million, and BiH into Serbia €83.9 million,” said Vucic, with the assessment that these are record numbers in economic cooperation.
Mr. Vucic also stated that his trip was motivated by the mutual respect and importance of BiH and Serbia, not by outside powers. “Here I say to you the same that I say in Belgrade, Washington, Moscow, or Brussels, and that is without hypocritical adulation. I respect BiH’s integrity and I reiterate that no one may destroy BiH or Republika Srpska,” repeated Vucic.
