Bakir Izetbegovic, the Bosniak member of BiH’s tripartite presidency, has demanded that the BiH Consul in Chicago be sacked for participating in local celebrations of Republika Srpska’s national day.
What has angered Izetbegovic is that Branko Pecanac allegedly organized a celebration in Chicago of “Republika Srpska Day” as well as making a speech that was not in accordance with the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Serb member of the presidency Nebojsa Radmanovic, however, “advised Izetbegovic to read the Bosnian Constitution,” which obligates citizens and government officials to recognize the holidays of both entities.
