Outrage in Federation as Tax Agency Publishes Officials’ Salaries – BalkanInsight

The Federation’s tax authority published a list this week of the 100 highest-paid government employees in the entity, sparking strong reactions from the public.

The former director of the pharmaceutical company Bosnalijek, Nedzad Polic, headed the list, earning more than 20,000 euro in May. Polic responed to criticism by noting that his pay for that month included a severance pay-off resulting from being dismissed from the position. The court in Zenica also denied that a judge in the town regularly earned a salary of around 7,000 euro a month, saying that amount included a maternity allowance. The average salary in Bosnia and Herzegovina is just over 400 euro a month and the average pension is around 150 euro.
