The Chief Prosecutor of BiH announced on Wednesday that the bureau of Organized Crime, Business Crime and Corruption within his office would launch an investigation into the failure of BiH authorities to resolve the Sejdic-Finci issue, after the continued deadlock over the issue cost BiH €45 million in EU funds.
“Non-implementation of the ruling is causing unforeseeable damage to the European path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, preventing the receipt of EU funds, as well as implementation of projects funded through pre-accession aid from the EU,” the Prosecutor said.
It was not explained who precisely the investigation will target. Seven parties remain involved in talks on ways to implement the rights ruling.
