Republika Srpska National Assembly Speaker Igor Radojicic met today with France’s special representative for the Balkans, Alain Richard. The two discussed “prospects for cooperation between Srpska and France in infrastructure, energy, industry, privatisation and banking,” according to SRNA.
Mr. Radojicic, who is visiting Paris, told press that France’s interest in the Balkan region has recently been rekindled.
“It seems to me that France wants to return to the Balkans and strengthen its presence in education, politics and the economy. We will see what will materialise and what will be interesting for both of the sides,” he said.
He said that France’s new interest in the Balkans became evident after the visit by the BiH Presidency members to Paris and the participation of French Prime Minister Francois Holland in a meeting of Balkan heads of state in Slovenia.
“After that, a new French Special Representative for the Balkans was appointed, who is interested in politics, but more in economic subjects,” Radojicic said.
