European Parliament Rapporteur for BiH Doris Pack told Glas Srpske today that all parties with the exception of the SDP are working toward a solution to the long-standing Sejdic-Finci issue.
“I believe that everyone is aware that if BiH is not ready to resolve the problem of “Sejdic-Finci” then it is not ready to move forward [in the EU accession process]. Unfortunately, it is only on the Federation to resolve this, because this is not a problem of the Serbs.”
Ms. Pack said that in addition to Serb parties, the SDA and the Croat-majority HDZ parties have “the will to reach an agreement.” Pack told Glas Srpske that:
The only person against the agreement is Zlatko Lagumdzija, and everyone who is an obstacle to reaching a solution should be called by name. When asked why is Lagumdzija against the agreement, Pack said she does not know what the reason is. She expressed hopes that Lagumdzija will change his position and that he will do anything that is in his power to resolve the problem. She also said that the resolution of the Sejdic-Finci issue is important for the upcoming elections in BiH.
