In statements to reporters this week, Republika Srpska president Milorad Dodik was upbeat about the entity’s economic prospects. President Dodik said that while the situation in RS wasn’t much better than that of its neighbors, the financial system was “stable,” and not burdened by excessive debt.
Mr. Dodik also pointed to recent estimates that suggest the economy of RS is growing.
“Estimates say that GDP will grow between 1.5 percent and 2 percent and we are hopeful they will come true. When you record growth two months in a row, you declare the end to recession,” Dodik told reporters in Novi Grad.
