EU Considers Cutting Funds for BiH – BalkanInsight

The EU’s Instruments of Pre-Accession Assistance Committee is to discuss Bosnia’s on-going and planned projects from the program of 2008-2012 on September 10 and decide whether to cut funding earmarked for Bosnia by 25 million euro.

After suspending some projects funded by the Pre-Accession Instruments, the EU is questioning whether long-running disagreements at both entity- and BiH-level over the implementation of these projects may be insurmountable. The IPA funding is intended to help BiH and the entities improve its institutions and government programs during the run-up to EU candidacy.
