The Bosniak-majority SDA has refused to take a post in the new government of Republika Srpska after its first pick to fill the post, Dzevad Mahmutovic, was denied by the ruling SNSD. The SNSD and Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic maintain that the SDA is welcome to put forward a new nomination for the ministry.
Meanwhile, the main Serb opposition party, the SDS, has indicated that it will not support PM Cvijanovic’s government, exacerbating growing tensions between the SNSD and SDS.
