The Office of the High Representative published on its website today a translated interview High Representative Inzko gave to Dnevni Avaz recently. In the interview, Mr. Inzko criticizes the Federation leadership for failing to resolve their current crisis, and criticizes President Budimir in particular for failing to fill long-empty posts on the entity’s Constitutional Court. When asked, High Representative Inzko denied that he or the Peace Implementation Council would intervene, however. According to Inzko, the Federation’s politicians must solve these problems themselves, and their constituents must hold them accountable.
“If this generation of politicians cannot change their habits and prove that they are capable of engaging in meaningful political dialogue that results in healthy compromise solutions that will advance this country then it is only a matter of time before they will be put out of a job by the electorate. Their time is running out to prove they are part of the solution rather than the problem.”
