FBiH President Zivko Budimir, facing pressure from the Federation’s majority coalition to sack several ministers, has said that he would prefer to call early elections. A parliamentary vote of no confidence in the current government could also resolve the impasse, Mr. Budimir told interviewers this week.
Although the Federation’s constitution grants presidents the power to remove ministers, Mr. Budimir has thus far refused to acquiesce to the majority’s demands. The majority parties insist that ministers belonging to the SDA and other parties which are no longer part of their coalition be removed.
