General Strike Falters in Bosnian Serb Entity – BalkanInsight

Negotiations between public-sector unions and the government of Republika Srpska broke down last weekend, but a planned general strike failed to materialize. A number of RS employees, including teachers at 130 school, did observe the strike on Monday.

The government’s 2013 budget calls for 10% salary cuts, a drastic measure which the unions have thus far rejected.
