In a press release issued last week, the EU’s delegation to BiH announced that EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle would visit Bosnia and Herzegovina on November 27. “The purpose of his visit is the second round of the High Level Dialogue on the Accession Process (HLDAP). It will focus on the implementation of the Road Map agreed at the first meeting of HLDAP on 27 June in Brussels and on the necessary follow-up.”
Speaking to BalkanInsight about Füle’s upcoming visit, BiH Presidency Chairman Nebojsa Radmanovic called the time-line attached to the EU’s Road Map “unrealistic.” Changes to the BiH constitution necessitated by the Sejdic-Finci case have still not been implemented; without overcoming this long-standing obstacle, BiH cannot advance toward EU accession.
