US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will visit Sarajevo as part of a multi-country trip next week, according to a statement released by the Department of State. After stopping in Algeria, Secretary Clinton will be joined in Sarajevo by Baroness Catherine Ashton, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security.
“In Sarajevo, the Secretary and High Representative Ashton will underline the urgent need for party leaders to serve the interests of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina and accomplish necessary reforms, and will stress the immutability of the international community’s commitment to the Dayton Peace Accords,” according to the statement.
After Sarajevo, Ashton and Clinton will travel together to Belgrade and Pristina. Then Secretary Clinton continue on to Albania and Croatia before ending what will likely be her last trip to the region as secretary of state.
