In a campaign led by the SDS party, members of the BiH House of Representatives voted yesterday to remove MP Denis Becirevic, of the SDP, from the position of Deputy Speaker. The vote came just one day after the SDP’s rival, the SDA, saw three of its members removed from the BiH Council of Ministers.
Meanwhile, Milorad Dodik’s SNSD dropped its motion to remove SDP chief Zlatko Lagumdzija from the post of Foreign Minister, despite support from the SDS. Although the details are not known, sources close to party leaders say that a deal has been reached between the SDP and SNSD. RS President Dodik told reporters that his decision not to pursue Lagumdzija’s ouster was based upon the “economic and national interests of the Republika Srpska.”
