The government of Republika Srpska has launched a new website highlighting opportunities for foreign investors interested in doing business in RS. The site, www.investsrpska.net, serves as a portal for all investment-related information.
Encouraging foreign direct investments is one of the RS government’s key development strategies; the government has already entered into several joint ventures with foreign firms in the energy and infrastructure sectors, and seeks to increase foreign investment over the next four years (see examples of current investment projects here and here).
Because it seeks to encourage investment in a wide range of sectors, the Republika Srpska Government works to make resources from several government ministries available to foreign investors. The main contact point for investors is the Ministry of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation, led by Minister Željka Cvijanović. The Ministry’s Economic Cooperation Sector stands ready to provide all necessary information to foreign investors concerning investment opportunities, legal regulations, institutions available to investors, as well as any other necessary information.
