Bosnia’s irreconcilable principles – Charles Crawford

In Transconflict, former UK Ambassador to BiH examines arguments against the current BiH constitution and system of government, as well as his own arguments that the 1995 constitution was itself, in some ways, unconstitutional. He argues that while an alternative, such as a three-member confederation, might be preferable and more sensible than the current system, such a radical change is extremely unlikely. Stalemate, according to Crawford, is likely to define the political arena for the foreseeable future.
