The three SDA members of the BiH House of Peoples opted not to boycott yesterday’s vote on removal of SDA ministers from the government. Instead, the SDA made the claim that sacking their ministers would constitute a threat to the “vital national interest” of Bosniaks. Under BiH procedures, the claim must be considered by a three-person committee within the House of People, after which it will likely go to the BiH Constitutional Court. The entire process of evaluating the claim is likely to drag on for weeks if not months, during which time the SDA’s ministers will remain on the BiH Council of Ministers.
