BiH’s tripartite presidency has approved the proposed 2012 state budget by a 2-to-1 vote, with Bosniak member Bakir Izetbegovic voting against. Based on Izetbegovic’s objections, the presidency said that proposed salary cuts for elected officials and civil employees cannot be enacted without changes to the constitution. Izetbegovic said that there were other ways to lower the budget, such as changing the system under which government institutions rent office space.
